Description

Systems of the Human Body: Updated April 2021

THIS TEACHING RESOURCE INCLUDES:

• a Smart Art science project

• a research template for a Body Part Report

• a set of Poems and Songs about the human body

The Smart Art activity contains directions, photos, and templates for a creative, hands-on science & art project focusing on six major systems of the human body. Samples can be viewed in the PREVIEW above.

- The Nervous System

- The Circulatory System

- The Respiratory System

- The Muscular System

- The Skeletal System

- The Digestive System

The Body Part Report is a great way to get primary children engaged in the process of conducting research, writing informational text, and presenting or communicating facts to an audience. The 3-page template guides children through the process while allowing for voice and choice. You can view the entire template in the PREVIEW above.

Several original Poems and Songs about the human body have been included in this resource. They're a fun way to connect science content to literacy skills, and are engaging for children who are drawn to music and singing. They can be used during shared reading or phonics lessons, and reread during science lessons as a review of information. You can view samples in the PREVIEW above.
