Looking for a new way for students to write about art? Need some fresh ideas for making a critique more fun? How about a quick activity to fill in the final 10 minutes of class? This handout takes the classic "T.A.G." activity and applies it to art. (T=Tell something you like. A=Ask a question. G=Give a compliment.) With this handout, students cut along the dotted lines, which creates their "tags." While observing classmates' art, they write in their comments, and leave a "tag" on three different artworks. When finished, students share one of their "tags" with the class. This activity is great for building self-esteem, while allowing students to engage with their classmates' artwork in a meaningful way.
