This zip file includes 3 files, each in pdf for easy printing and .docx for making changes if needed.
1. Anticipation Collage: Directions for students to create a setting theme collage. Student's gather images that relate to the setting of the book. Student are asked to make predictions and inferences before reading the book. (I gave this to my student's as an extra credit activity and for early finishers)
2. Reader's Response Journal Questions: Student's are given 6 journal questions that ask for the student to provide text evidence. One example response in shown. (I used this for a sub-day and asked students to pick 3 of the 6 to answer)
3. Test Prep Multiple Choice Questions: Based on DOK (Depth of Knowlage) and STAAR (Texas) style questions. (I included the docx so that you could change the format if doing common core) These are good, deep questions! Includes 18 questions an NO KEY. I required students to provide text evidence for answers. (In my classroom we did a few whole group, the next few in table groups, and the last independently. I also did it basketball style. If students, or group got the question right, they could come take a shot in the basket. -trash can and paper balls- It was a BLAST) But the point was they had to prove to me why the answer was right. It lead to a lot of discussion and critical thinking. If you absolutely need a key, I can make one.
If your looking for test prep to go with a traditional novel study, this is for you!
