How To Play
Glue card fronts (questions and alligators) and card backs (toads/turtles-make 2 copies) back-to-back in order to create double-sided game cards. Arrange cards in the center of the table toad/turtle side up. You can play one color-coded card deck at a time or mix them up according to your students’ needs. If you need to conserve ink, print in greyscale on colored paper.
Give each student a Pond Game Board.
Students take turns choosing cards and answering the questions (you will need to read the questions for some younger students). When correct, the student adds that card to his/her Pond. If he/she gets an Alligator Card, Chomp!! he/she loses a card from his/her Pond and throws it back into the card pile in the middle of the table. Remove that Alligator Card from the game and continue play. The student with the most Turtles/Toads in his/her Pond at the end of the game (after a predetermined amount of time or when all cards have been played) wins the game!
