This document contains two sets of task cards.
The first set of twenty-four cards simply has words from Fry’s Word List (Tenth 100). Students have to determine where the word could be divided by a hyphen if it were at the end of a line.
The second set of twenty-four cards has the SAME words from Fry’s Word List (Tenth 100). However, hyphens are already placed within the word. Students have to determine whether or not the location of the hyphens are correct or incorrect.
Answer recording sheets and answer keys are included, along with two posters about using hyphens at the ends of lines.
Laminate cards or print on card stock for long term use! Use these cards in centers, play Scoot, or simply use as a quick assessment!
