This TED Talk worksheet is intended to be used with Michael Kimmel's TED Talk, "Why Gender Equality is Good for Everybody- Men Included." This lesson is appropriate for most high school-level Psychology, Social Psychology, Sociology, Social Studies, Life Skills, or Current Events/Contemporary Issues classes.
The video, worksheet, and class discussion (recommended) can be completed in one class period. I often use this resource as part of a unit on gender issues in my Junior/Senior Social Studies course.
Due to some "mature humor" used in this TED Talk, I believe this lesson is suitable for upper-level high school and/or college-level students. I recommend reviewing the interactive transcript of the TED Talk before purchasing if you are concerned about the language and/or content of this TED Talk.
Yes, we all know it's the right thing to do. But Michael Kimmel makes the surprising, funny, practical case for treating men and women equally in the workplace and at home. It's not a zero-sum game, but a win-win that will result in more opportunity and more happiness for everybody.
This talk was presented at an official TED conference, and was featured by editors on the home page.
