This is a fantastic resource for using TED Talks in the classroom or with individual students be it, online or private tutoring.
TED Talks provide the perfect opportunity to improve student listening skills, conversational skills, vocabulary and their expression of opinions.
In this well thought out 7 page work sheet, students will focus on the topic of REGRET:
Section 1 - Before watching activities to stimulate student interest and activate previous knowledge and understanding related to vocabulary. This includes photographs and discussion questions which are related to the video.
Section 2 - students will watch the video by following the link provided.
Section 3 - Students will complete vocabulary activities to cement understanding the vocabulary used in the video. They will learn the vocabulary through context and quotes from the video are provided.
Section 4 Idioms: Students will also have the chance to learn idioms used to express regret. Each idiom is introduced with specifically designed target questions to ensure students think and apply the idioms to their own experiences.
Section 5 Final Discussion - Students will have a chance to work with their teacher or partner and ask and answer a series of questions specifically designed to summarise the key points from the video.
Section 6 Bucket Lists - Students will now have a chance to ensure they live their life regret free!! They will create their own bucket lists.
