This two-sided viewing guide & worksheet is designed to accompany the TED Talk "The Hunt for Genetic Heroes," given by Stephen Friend. Friend's video (widely available on YouTube or the TED Talk website) encourages genetic testing of those who carry genes for sickness, but don't actually get sick. (Video is 10 minutes long.)
Worksheet includes an activator question, a section for viewing notes & responses, and an analysis/reflection section.
I use Friend's TED Talk as a supplement to my unit on "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" by Rebecca Skloot. the Friend video helps to contextualize many of the issues Skloot raises into a larger perspective.
