Wondering how to address the CCSS Speaking/Listening & Reading ?
Look no further!

Students will love using TED Talks from www.TED.com to meet these standards and improve their ability to read Non-Print Informational texts. This is a classroom-tested lesson that will leave students excitedly asking, “Are we reading a TED Talk today?” Students will work with persuasive Non-print texts to conduct data/fact collection using textual evidence, meaningful media clips to support any topic the instructor chooses, while delving deeper into Rhetorical Analysis using various reading strategies. This lesson is easily adaptable and ready adoption of ELA CCSS into other content areas. The design of this lesson easily allows teachers to pull in writing activities and whole class/small group discussions as extension learning opportunities, or the TED Talk activities can stand-alone. Use my 4 ready-to-use data collection student worksheets for differentiated instruction to meet student levels of learning, or use them as inspiration to create a worksheet that works for your needs.
