TEK 5.9A teaches children to distinguish between categorical and numerical data so that they can choose appropriate graphs and tables to represent information. This leads to work onTEKS 5.9B and C: represent discrete paired data on a scatterplot; and solve one- and two-step problems using data from a frequency table, dot plot, bar graph, stem-and-leaf plot, or scatterplot.
This kit includes lesson suggestions and links, ideas for differentiation and extension, key term definitions and examples, sixteen easily prepared task cards, and an answer key. Simply copy, cut, collate, use and store for use as STAAR review in March or for future years.
