HEY TEXAS TEACHERS! Check this out!
Something that seems to help me and other teachers is to take the state standards and BREAK them DOWN into separate parts to understand them better. This single page is an outline to help out with the breakdown of the TEKS!
At the top left of the page, there is a banner section for you to write your standard's identication number.
The other sections include:
The VERB, which is the action the student must perform in order to learn the CONTENT, and within the content are specifics like VOCABULARY and the "SUCH AS..." which contain examples of the content.
Maybe this will help you out!
This is made for the TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills)... but if you'd like me to make one for your state's standards, then just send me a message in my Question section with your state's standards acronym and I'll switch the "TEKS" out with whatever it is.
There are two per page! Cut them in half and glue in your journal. Students will like this also. Shouldn't the student understand what the standard means also? You can show them how to break it down also!
