These digital science activities will cover your third-grade Texas TEKS standards for organisms and environment, including habitats, ecosystems, community, population, predator, prey, food chains, interdependence, learned behavior, instinct, inerhited traits, form & function, adaptations, ladybug life cycles, frog life cycles, and tomato plant life cycles. Texas teachers, you asked for it and you got it! These resources are 100% online and can be used on Google Classroom and Google Drive. This resource also includes an answer key.
I broke apart many of my other Google Drive resources to specifically create a standards-based product that aligns to the Grade 3 Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Organisms & Environment for Google Drive and Google Classroom.
TEKS for science 9A, 9B, 9C, 10A, 10B
(9) Organisms and environments. The student knows and can describe patterns, cycles, systems, and relationships within the environments. The student is expected to:
(A) observe and describe the physical characteristics of environments and how they support populations and communities of plants and animals within an ecosystem;
(B) identify and describe the flow of energy in a food chain and predict how changes in a food chain affect the ecosystem such as removal of frogs from a pond or bees from a field; and
(C) describe environmental changes such as floods and droughts where some organisms thrive and others perish or move to new locations.
(10) Organisms and environments. The student knows that organisms undergo similar life processes and have structures that help them survive within their environments. The student is expected to:
(A) explore how structures and functions of plants and animals allow them to survive in a particular environment; and
(B) investigate and compare how animals and plants undergo a series of orderly changes in their diverse life cycles such as tomato plants, frogs, and lady beetles.

If you are in a 1:1 technology classroom, this product is perfect for you! It will also work well if you only have a few computers in your classroom. As long as your students have a Google Drive account and access to a computer, they can use these products during literacy centers and rotate off computers.
How do I use this product?
You will be given the link to the Google Drive product. You can either email it to your students, or post on your Google Classroom! Check out my blog post to see how to upload it if you're unsure.
