Matching Tens and Ones Game // 1 – 4 Player Math Center Game
This fun and easy-to-follow direction game will provide your students practice time recognizing the models and numeral of a two-digit number. It is aligned to the Common Core Standards 1.NBT.2, and the Florida Standard MAFS 1-NBT.2.2. This file included 4 different colored mats, 18 matching numeral cards and models cards SET ( 36 CARDS IN BOTH FULL COLOR AND BLACK TONES): two sets of color coded cards. The first set has the numbers from 11 to 59. The second set has the numbers from 60 – 99. It can be used as one game with both sets of cards or two different games for two groups. This will give you the opportunity to differentiate your instruction. There is a recording sheet which will hold your students accountable for their work. It includes instruction page for the teacher and direction sheet for the students as well as two standard posters for the classroom. Most pages in this file are in both full color and in gray tones.
Print and laminate mats, cards and recording sheet for longer use. Students can also use dry markers to write down the matches on the recording sheet provided. In a whole or small group, mats can be used with additional numbers or models the teacher can up with. The cards can a well be uses in whole group teaching or small group. Teacher can use it for intervention as an assessment.

10 can be thought of as a bundle of ten ones — called a "ten."
The numbers from 11 to 19 are composed of a ten and one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, or nine ones.

d. Decompose two- digit numbers in multiple ways (e.g., 64 can be decomposed into 6 tens and 4 ones or into 5 tens and 14 ones).
