This is a start-to-finish, NO-PREP, visual lesson for THE PERIODIC TABLE. Each step of the lesson has PICTURES to enhance understanding for visual learners, struggling readers and English Language Learners.

1. Go through PowerPoint with the whole class. I put the bullet points on “fade” mode, so that each idea appears as you discuss with students.
2. Students should copy down notes, using the corresponding notes page, as you go through PowerPoint.
3. Directly following the Power Point, go through review questions to check for understanding. I have students use white boards to answer questions with their group. I give group points to encourage participation.
4. End the lesson by having students complete the handout as independent work.
