THE STAR (Felicity Marshall) Stage 3 - Reading & Writing (2 WEEKS)

The STAR is a wonderful book with so much for students to learn from.

In this pack students will unpack the following over two weeks.

Week 1:

Reading Focus = Predicting and making connections.

Writing Focus = Persuasive text using gradual release of responsibility, (modelled, guided and independent activities)

Week 2:

Reading Focus = Strategic questioning. (Here , Hidden & Head)

Writing Focus = Retell.

This unit is editable and can be adapted to any students needs.

I have used this with my stage 3 students and they were deeply engaged and loved reading the book.
