Use these sheets throughout the day for practice and formative assessments. Students keep the sheet in the corner of the desk and you yell out, "Time Check" 3x during the day. Students will stop what they're doing, look at the clock, and write down the time. You can correct it together right then, or wait until all three times have been called out to check them together. It's a great way for students to get daily practice on telling time throughout the year. Start with time to the hour, move to time to half hour, multiples of 5's, then time to the minute. Great for primary grades.
There is a more advanced "Time Check 2" sheet that includes elapsed time. It back of the sheet has the Mountain Strategy example of finding elapsed time that the students can reference to. Great for 3rd grade and up!
