PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

TIME to EAT!
Do you have kids who have a difficult time answering questions about meals? Do they have trouble grasping the concept of time, especially in regards to meals? Or maybe “where” and “what” they eat at each meal of the day? Use these activities to teach your students how to answer the “wh’s” of breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Included in this packet is an 8 page lesson/book on nutrition, introducing the iconic Food Pyramid and newer MyPlate.gov (by the USDA) option for making healthy eating choices. Let students create their own meals on their plates—can they create a meal based on the guidelines in the lesson?

Use the 3 sorting mats to visually introduce the concepts of “when” and “what” we eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a sorting mat for the Morning/breakfast table, afternoon/lunch table and evening/dinner table.

There are 5 food groups worth of food to sort--grains, dairy, proteins, fruits, vegetables, PLUS a bonus group of junk food (10 pictures per food group and 8 junk foods).

There are interactive phrase and sentence strips and posters to help your students learn to answer various questions. Many different pronouns and verbs are included so your students can practice building sentences using noun-verb agreement.

Practice answering “what” questions in the interactive mini book (both color and black/white versions included.
