TOUCH and COUNT MATH – Halloween Addition Using Touch Math Strategies for visual learners, students with autism and special needs. Many of our students learn counting and addition strategies using the Touch Math method. This is a supplemental activity to enhance addition skills with a bit of festive autumn theme! Skeletons and pumpkins help your students add, keeping them focused and on task!
Excellent for your Math Center, one-on-one instruction, or independent work task bins. Number cards are included, too!
SUGGESTED WAYS TO IMPLEMENT IN YOUR CLASSROOM:
• Use response cards with students who struggle with fine motor skills.
• For our learners who are not yet able to write numbers, use the number cards for the sum.
• For more advanced learners, allow them to write their own math problems to solve! Using a dry erase marker, wipe each answer easily!
• Work with students individually as part of math instructional time, or have them work independently.
SUGGESTED IEP GOAL for Special Education students:
Given a pre-taught counting strategy, STUDENT will add and ____________(write the sum up to 18/find the correct number response card up to 18) for 10 addition problems with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR (IEP end date).
