This story is modeled after Blaine Ray extended readings.
This reading focuses on the future proche. We read it in a French 1 unit about New Year's resolutions just after winter break. It is a similar to the story "Bruce et la batte d'Albert" posted for French 3, but much simpler. Focuses on structures:
conjugated verb+ infinitive (including future proche)
It is also very easy to adjust the grammar, vocabulary, people and places in the story to your grade and class level!
I love having students read in class because then all grammar elements are tied to language that is contextualized! Students love them, and we can do so many activities with just one reading!
One activity idea: try leaving off the end of the story and have students do a writing activity using the future proche to predict the ending.
