This story is modeled after Blaine Ray extended readings.
This reading focuses on the future simple. We read it during a unit about New Year's resolutions just after winter break. Includes structures:
future simple of: avoir, -er verbs, aller, voir, vouloir, faire, venir, être
direct and indirect objects
present tense (mostly written in this)
some passé composé and imparfait
Also includes a short writing prompt predicting the end of the story (using the future simple) before they actually read the end
It is also very easy to adjust the grammar and vocabulary in the story to your grade and class level!
I love having students read in class because then all grammar elements are tied to language that is contextualized! Students love them, and we can do so many activities with just one reading!
