This is a sheet for your students to keep throughout the year in a TPRS style based classroom. Experience with TPRS is recommended to get the most out of this resource, but not required to implement it well!
The TPRS Student Story Sheet covers the following aspects of a story:
Through my experience of teaching with TPRS, I find my students needing a “one stop shop” for whenever we are writing in class or for homework. This story sheet compiles many key elements that are crucial to building the story (FRONT), as well as providing students the space to add their own elements to keep their stories fresh and unique (BACK). Print this handout on a brightly colored piece of paper for your students to keep ALL YEAR! After walking through these guided notes, students should be able to write their stories with confidence and consistency.
Also included is a two-page detailed description on the TPRS story model and how to break down and explain the parts of this sheet to your students. I also explain how I introduce and implement Preterite vs. Imperfect through TPRS stories.
