Planet Research Project
This project was created to be used with guided reading groups. There are pages for physical description, the length of a day and year, distance from the Sun and from the Earth, whether it has moons or rings, and a page for students to include their own "most interesting fact." Each page has a student-friendly question to guide the information they should include. This helps students read and write expository/informational text. Text features can be discussed as well as strategies to select information.
- The first 8 pages have the cover for one of each of the 8 planets. They also have the "Interesting Facts" page, which will be the last page of the students' book. These should be printed one sided. Each student will need ONE page from these 8 pages.
- Pages 9 & 10 can be double sided. Each student will need both of these pages.
- For example, in my class of 24: I would print 3 one-sided copies of each of the first 8 pages, and 24 double-sided copies of pages 9-10.
