TUSC is a fabulous project to start in your ELA class. TUSC stands for "Totally Unique Speaking Club," and is a student-run meeting in which students have a chance to research, write, and deliver speeches on various topics. Typically held once per week, this is a great task to help your students develop independence and leadership skills, as they conduct the meetings from start to finish.
This document contains detailed descriptions for 21 different roles in TUSC, to be printed out and distributed to each student.
Thank you to my colleague Brian Elder for the idea, and showing me how incredible it can work in a classroom!
*Please also check out my bulletin board display, to see how I organize paperwork for the students.
