Table Group Labels!
It might not seem like it, but students enjoy and actually thrive when they have routines and structures in a classroom. These table group labels will help organize your class and aid in your classroom management.
This can be used on a daily basis for absolutely any task: from asking your 1’s to pick up enough handouts for their table group to asking the yellow’s from the odd numbered tables and blue’s from the even numbered tables to share out their responses to having your A and B partners at each table group work on an assignment together.
Students were assigned a rotation stations activity where the 1’s had to read aloud the prompt to their table group, the 2’s had to facilitate the discussion by asking guiding questions, the 3’s had to write the response, and the 4’s had to share aloud with the rest of the class when we whipped around for a whole-class discussion. These roles switched up each time they rotated table stations --this makes the work fair and ever changing for the students.
