My students absolutely LOVE this craft for our Tacky unit!
I use the book, Tacky Goes to Camp and discuss character traits and how they are words used to describe a character based on what he/she does and says in the book. After reading the story, I then give students this printable assignment. Students are expected to color Tacky, cut him out, and glue him onto a piece of construction paper. Then, students are expected to identify and cut out the different character traits that describe Tacky and glue them around the same piece of construction paper. To challenge my students, I've also encouraged them to write their own character traits around the piece of construction paper.
Directions: Print out this printable (one-sided). Make a class set for your students and distribute it to them. Have them color and cut out Tacky. Students should then glue Tacky onto a piece of construction paper. Have them pick the character traits that best describe Tacky and cut and paste them onto that same piece of construction paper. For an added effect, give them a pair of googly eyes for Tacky's eyes! I have attached a picture for you to show your students as a model.
