This story kit contains everything you need to complete whole group reading lessons, writing lessons and literacy stations. Activities for literacy stations include: word work, listening, writing and reading.

4.Sequencingand Retelling - Pocket Chart Pictures and Word Cards – use the cards to place the events in the order they appear in the story.RetellingPocket Chart Pictures and Word Cards – use the cards to retell the beginning, middle and end of the story. A Retelling anchor chart is included. along with a cut and paste activity and 4 recording sheets.

5.Making Connections – Headers - attach to chart paper and record ideas under the headers. Use the recording pages to make a text to self connection or a text to text connection. 3options included to provide differentiation.

6.Character Traits – Option #1 Bubble map - Write adjectives that describe squirrel Option 2 – record inside and outside traits. Writing Page - Use this character traits to write about Tacky.

7.Describe a shirt - Activity One: Write adjectives to describe a shirt. Activity Two: Fill in the Blank to describe your shirt. Activity Three: Design a Shirt: A Crayon Resist Activity

8.Compare and Contrast - Compare Tacky and his companions or Tacky and a real penguin. Chart headers and Venn Diagram recording sheet included
