After reading a Tacky the Penguin book, students can create their very own Tacky the Penguin Puppet. Have students color and cut out the different parts of Tacky. Have them appropriately glue the colored parts to a brown paper bag so that they are able to create a puppet. As an extension, have students identify one character trait to describe Tacky on the back of the puppet. For more advanced students, students can also give support from the story to support their character trait. For an added effect, give students a pair of googly eyes for their puppet! This product includes two pictures of my model for you to show to your students!
