This recording sheet can be used as an independent activity, or as a game for two to four players.
All you need it one die. Roll, record the number, cross out that many circles on the ten frame, and then write the corresponding equation. Ten frames are pre-filled with a certain number of spots. If the student rolls a number larger than what is in the ten frame, then they lose their turn and the die is passed to the next player, or if playing independently, just roll again.
This can be used as a math station, guided math lesson, or a take home math game. It also allows you to do a quick formative assessment of your students' growing number sense.
This recording sheet can be copied front/back, and used more than once, since rolling the dices causes variety to the activity. It can also be laminated and written on with a wet eraser marker to save paper.
