This set includes 32 word problems involving spending at a baseball game. The students will use the concession stand menu and stadium store price list to answer questions on the task cards or worksheets. The problems are multi-step word problems including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. While this activity is primarily a math lesson, it could easily be extended into an economics lesson. (Look for those soon!)
I have included enough resources in this set to allow you to use this product in different ways. Just choose the one that works best for your class! The last 2 pages of task cards are more challenging (#25-32.) You can decide if you want to include them or not. I also have my students write the corresponding equation, not just the answer, because we need practice with notation. That, of course, is also up to you!
Use it as a center.
Use task cards in groups.
Use the worksheets for individual practice.
Give the students a budget, and let them decide what to buy.
1. Copy the Concession Menu and Stadium Store pages and laminate them. (one set for a center or one set per group.)
2. Print, laminate, and cut the task cards or print and copy the worksheet.
