One of the key components of the Responsive Classroom is to provide a space in your room for a child to “Take a Break”. This is a positive place where a child can sit to gather his thoughts, his feelings, and prepare to rejoin the class. A child can go to this area on his own or at the request of the teacher. These Calming Cards are a collection of self calming strategies designed to be placed in the Take a Break area of your classroom for a child to use when trying to compose himself. If you use the Responsive Classroom these make a great addition. I hope you find these as helpful as I have.
