If you give your students a picture of a line, what can they tell you about it? In this lesson, students are given graphic organizers with various pictures lines. They use the graph to generate their own table. Then, students use the table to determine the domain and range. Next, students use the graph of the line to calculate the slope and identify the y-intercept; determine the steepness of the line; describe the relationship between x and y; formulate an equation and write the equation in standard form. After completing this activity, students are competent to evaluate and analyze the properties and attributes of a linear graph.
