This zipped folder contains 10 graphs (both pie charts and bar graphs) with prompts for students to ask their classmates about their childhood--Were you a little angel or a little devil? What was your favorite stuffed animal? How old were you when you gave up your blankey or favorite stuffed animal?
Divide the students so that they are in 10 small groups. Give each group ONE of the 10 graphs. They are responsible for interviewing their classmates, recording the data, and presenting the data on their graph. Students use the DATA COLLECTION sheet (included in the folder) to record data that they collect from their classmates.
Once groups have prepared their data, they present it to the class. The teacher assesses listening comprehension by using the "quiz" included in the folder. The "quiz" has several general true/false questions that can be answered based on the data presented. For example, "T/F In general, the French students were little angels." Or, "In general, French students sucked pacifiers."
This is a great activity to practice using the IMPARFAIT in a realistic context.
