A very simple template for talking cards. These cards are a great classroom management tool that you can use to create a better balance of who in your classroom is talking, and when.
Print as many of these cards as you need and laminate them. I’ve left them in a Word doc so you can make them prettier or fancier if desired!
Hand out a certain number of cards to each student. For example, give each student three and tell them they have to use at least one and can't use more than the three they have. Frequent participants will have to self-monitor when they choose to participate, and infrequent talkers will be encouraged to say more.
Alternately, use them as a targeted intervention for a single student who is working on these goals.
Encourages use of executive functioning skills such as planning and self-monitoring, participation, engagement, and attention.
