Inspired Owl's Corner

This engaging unit will help you bring your Tall Tale Unit to life! It will take about 1-2 weeks to complete, depending on how many tall tale stories you plan to read and which activities you plan to complete. You will need at least one copy of different tall tale books to use with this file. I am able to find the books at my school and local library.

I have included posters and vocabulary words for the following stories:

By Steven Kellogg:

Sally Ann Thunder Ann Whirlwind Crockett

Paul Bunyan

Pecos Bill

Johnny Appleseed

Mike Fink

Swamp Angel by Anne Isaacs (My favorite!)

American Tall Tales by Mary Pope Osborn (This one has Davy Crockett and John Henry in it, as well as Sally Ann Thunder Ann Whirlwind Crockett, Johnny Appleseed, Stormalong, Mose, Febold Feboldson, Pecos Bill, and Paul Bunyan. It's a great one to use to compare/contrast two of the same stories by different authors.)

Included in this file:
