Tall Tales: Story Mapping & Literature Circles

If you are looking for some activities to put a little spin on your current tall tale study, this unit will be a perfect supplemental resource.This unit adds a little spice to the everyday literature study. During these activities, the students will use close reading strategies to identify a purpose for reading. Then, they will be given a task during literature circles to collect evidence and events from the tale to take back to a group. As the group members report, the students will create a story map for five different tall tale heroes.
