2nd Grade Common Core Aligned
CCSS.Math.Content.2.MD.D.10: Draw a picture graph and a bar graph (with single-unit scale) to represent a data set with up to four categories. Solve simple put-together, take-apart, and compare problems using information presented in a bar graph.
My school uses Fun Friday every Friday to motivate students throughout the week to be able to attend. They get to choose which station they go to among the second grade teachers, so this tally chart is a real-world application of that task. Students will be practicing exactly what we teachers do every Friday when we ask for their choices. They will then take this data and answer comparative questions.
**Think-tank is one of the Fun Friday choices students go to when they haven't turned in work or need to think about a behavior choice they made. It is the last category on the tally chart, but the tally count for this block will be 0, as no one in Ms. Evans' class goes to Think Tank.
*Great set-up for skills students will need to do bar graphs.
*I personally use this page during the small group rotation during math.
