Calculus Tangent Lines to Parametric Functions

This product is designed for AP Calculus BC or College Calculus 2. Students use the formulas for derivatives of parametric equations to find derivatives and also find equations of tangent lines. They will also determine vertical and horizontal points of tangency for parametric curves.

Included in the lesson:

☑ 10 Task or Station cards plus one blank for you to personalize if you choose. There are ten questions. For #1 – 8 students find a tangent line to a parametric curve at a specific value of t. #9 and #10 have students determine the rectangular points at which the parametric curve has vertical and horizontal tangents

☑ Fully typed solutions for all problems NO PREP

☑ A matching worksheet with room for solutions if you choose not to use cards.

☑ Student response sheet with room for work

Please note: A strong background in Parametrics is needed for your students who will be continuing on to Multivariable or College Calculus 3.
