This package contains 40 tangram examples to be recreated by the children in your class. It practices spatial awareness, geometric concepts, shapes and mathematical concepts like symmetry and congruency.
The 40 pictures are a combination of animals and human figures. The photocards are available in 2 sizes: small (2 per page) and large (same pictures, but 1 per page).
Print the included colored or the black and white tangram template and let the children recreate the puzzles themselves. You can do this as a group activity or let the children get to work individually.
Tangram is a dissection puzzle consisting of seven flat shapes, called tans, which are put together to form shapes. The objective of the puzzle is to form a specific shape (given only an outline or silhouette) using all seven pieces, which may not overlap. Tangram consists of:
• 1 small square
• 2 small congruent triangles
• 2 large congruent triangles
• 1 medium-size triangle
• 1 parallelogram
