This is a fun and thought-provoking approach for introducing the principles of Taoism. The lesson involves examining nature and how those observations can guide one's view of the world, as well as how one interacts with it. As a warm-up, I find it helpful to assign various opposites to all your students, like "war" and "peace". This helps them to understand concepts like balance and duality, as well as the significance of the yin-yang symbol. This lesson will have students analyze various primary sources, as well as identify key features in nature that reflect Taoist principles.
