This Interactive PowerPoint document is designed to help all students understand that they can use the keyboard properly, and that they can learn technology, even in its simplest form. It teaches the Upper Elementary hands on, engaging and interactive keyboarding activities. They can learn keystrokes, and finger placements first, to develop keyboarding skills without ever touching the keys on the keyboard. This presentation introduces sound and pulsating keystrokes to better equip the student keyboarding skills. As well, there is a concentration of going from standard handwriting to cursive writing.
Upper Elementary students rely heavily on the Two-Fingered, or the Peek or Not to Peek method while learning how to Touch Type (type without looking). The Tap It Out Series is a constructive way for students to learn how to type without looking. A fun process that they will never forget. I suggest that you checkout the Keyboarding Place Mats too! Students like them and they help with finger placement.
