This is a primary measurement center.
For use during a center time.
-Around your classroom, put differing lengths of tape on the floor. I usually do one about 1 foot, one about 3 feet long, one about 4 feet long, and a really long one that's about 7 feet long.
-Set out tubs of unisex cubes or blocks at each area.
-Print this page. Kid go around the room to the four pieces of tape and measure how many cubes long it is. :)
-Return back together as a group and compare measurements to check for accuracy!

Common Core Alignment
Describe and compare measurable attributes.
Describe measurable attributes of objects, such as length or weight. Describe several measurable attributes of a single object.
Directly compare two objects with a measurable attribute in common, to see which object has "more of"/"less of" the attribute, and describe the difference. For example, directly compare the heights of two children and describe one child as taller/shorter.
