This grade 5, 6, and 7 ELA unit is a very focused unit that teaches students to compare and contrast pieces of work through different reading, listening, and viewing experiences as well as across genres. Students will focus on the difference between tone, mood, and beauty, exploring different themes in literature and how they are similar in different works, as well as how reading and listening or viewing can be such different experiences.
This is a unit designed with the sole function of teaching the literary standard RL5.7, 6.7, & 7.7 as well as RL5.9, 6.9, and 7.9 which focuses on teaching readers to establish how to essentially compare and contrasts texts in different forms and genres.
