- Text/Media Analysis and Integration - Synthesis and analysis of multiple infuriation source types.
This grade 5, 6, and 7 ELA unit is designed to assist students in their ability to read, locate, analyze, synthesize, and utilize multiple information and media information sources. Students need this skill to answer questions, conduct research, write essays, and compile information in order to form a well-rounded perspective and understanding on a particular topic. This specific unit includes a pre and post test that explore the topics of The Great Barrier Reef and Smart Phone Addiction. There are multiple links to connect teachers to additional FREE practice resources, and well as a Passion Project where students will implement this skill at its highest level in a way that is personal to them. This is a differentiated project that will engross your students as it appeals to their personal curiosity and interests!
This unit is wonderful for an additional way to track data on the mastery of a specific standard. The unit, questions, I CAN statements, and activities are based off of research based practices and have been developed by an experienced and practicing ELA teacher who understands what you need. Lessons are intended to reach a wide variety of learners.
