When a reader is able to identify a text’s structure, they are better able to comprehend the information.
These task cards will allow students to identify the structure of a short nonfiction text in Spanish.
They will be asked to identify the structure and explain how they determined it. They may be able to identify certain signal words that point to the structure, but they should be able to look at the text as a whole to determine it.
There is also a page with one open ended question per set of cards (every 3 cards are a set) asking the students to analyze how the text structure influences the ideas in the text.
This bundle also includes posters for the different types of text structures. The posters can be used in the large size to post in the classroom or the smaller, single-page version for each student. There is also a single-page note page along with the same version as a blank notetaker.
Task cards are ideal for use in a literacy center as review or even in a small guided group to teach or review the skill. Students can check their own answers with the QR code or teacher can check them from the answer sheet without the code.
