Tarjetas de silabas is a set that consists of 26 pages.
Each page includes a card for each of the five syllables that can be formed with one same consonant sound.
For example: Syllables with the letter b: ba-be-bi-bo-bu. Aside from the cards, each page also has an individual card for the consonant sound and for each vowel. That way the students can practice sounding out and putting together the sounds that form the syllable. For example: there is a card with b and five cards with: a, e, i, o, u in one same page. The students can manipulate the cards to form ba, be, bi, bo, and bu.
This set is ideal for both whole and small group instruction.
It lends itself to be used by students that are at different reading levels. Once each set is laminated and cut into cards, the students can practice identifying the syllable groups, forming the syllables by putting corresponding cards together, and even making words with the syllables. Advanced students can form three and four syllable words!
Our students have truly enjoyed using these cards during stations. They put syllables together to make words and record them on their journals. They even compete to see who can make 10 words first!
