6th Grade STAAR Poetry Task Cards

Includes 4 poems with 16 questions (4 questions/task cards per poem) and answer key, containing question stems taken from the released 2013-2016 6th grade Reading STAAR tests

TEK-aligned Test Prep
-6.2E Reading/Vocabulary Development. Students understand new vocabulary and use it when reading and writing. Students are expected to use a dictionary, a glossary, or a thesaurus (printed or electronic) to determine the meanings, syllabication, pronunciations, alternate word choices, and parts of speech of words.

Students are expected to explain how authors create meaning through stylistic elements and figurative language emphasizing the use of personification, hyperbole, and refrains.

6th Grade STAAR Vocabulary Question Task Cards
