Task Cards

One of my regulars: Ms. Baker, can I keep this? (Holding one of these task cards)

Me: Absolutely, what is your reason behind wanting to keep it?

My regular: Well, every time I see it makes me think of all the techniques you taught me when I am angry, such as counting the tiles on the floor. I figured over the summer I could use it as a reminder and count the stripes on the back of the card instead.

Excuse me as I go cry and give the student my whole stack of cards.
