These Task Cards are meant to help students learn and master their vocabulary words, using photos, for the chemistry section of 8th Grade.
TEK 8.5A Describe the structure of atoms, including the masses, electrical charges, and locations, of protons and neutrons in the nucleus and electrons in the electron cloud.
TEK 8.5B Identify that protons determine an element's identity and valence electrons determine its chemical properties, including reactivity.
TEK 8.5C Interpret the arrangement of the Periodic Table, including groups and periods, to explain how properties are used to classify elements.
TEK 8.5D Recognize that chemical formulas are used to identify substances and determine the number of atoms of each element in chemical formulas containing subscripts.
TEK 8.5E Investigate how evidence of chemical reactions indicate that new substances with different properties are formed.
TEK 8.5F Recognize whether a chemical equation containing coefficients is balanced or not and how that relates to the law of conservation of mass.
When looking at a task card, the student will need to be caught up on their vocabulary words, as each card contains an image of one of their words. The task cards can be used in a variety of ways. You can hang them up in your classroom as is or in hallways for kids to explore. They can be printed multiple to a page, to be used at the start of the class as a warmup, as well. Some of the cards have a QR code, so that the students can quiz themselves and then check their answers on their device or you can use the attached answer key. I have attached 4 sets of the definitions so that you can use the set that fits your needs. (Multiple Choice & QR Code, just multiple choice, just QR Code and then one with just the definition.)
Words Included in this set.
Balanced Chemical Equation
Periodic Table of Elements
There are 4 sets of vocabulary words. Multiple Choice & QR Code, Just Multiple Choice, Just QR Code, and a set with just the definition,
A blank Answer Sheet is included so students can record their answers!
Previews are available so that you can see what the task cards looks like to make sure it is a product you would like to use and enjoy.
