These 24 colorful activity cards are designed to help your students review area and perimeter and the academic language associated with the concepts.
The first twelve cards are designed to help strengthen academic language. Students are first required to define area and perimeter, explain how to calculate them, compare them, and consider how they could use area and perimeter in real life. Students will apply their knowledge by locating and measuring several classroom objects, then calculating the area and perimeter of each object. Finally, students will solve three, real life examples of area and perimeter problems.
Another 12 cards are designed to help students practice determining which formula to use and calculating area and perimeter in real-life situations. There are included answer cards so that students can self-check their work.
This can be used in a variety of ways from center work, to partner work to individual early-finisher work. Suggestions for use are included within.
