These Task Cards are meant to help students count atoms in Chemical Formulas and Balance Chemical Equations.
TEK 8.5D Recognize that chemical formulas are used to identify substances and determine the number of atoms of each element in chemical formulas containing subscripts.
TEK 8.5F Recognize whether a chemical equation containing coefficients is balanced or not and how that relates to the law of conservation of mass.
When looking at a task card, the student will be required to answer three questions that are focused on balancing chemical equations. For the first questions the student needs to identify if the chemical equation is balanced or not. For the second question they need to balance the equation. For the third question they need to count the number of atoms in the chemical formula. These task cards can be used in a variety of ways. You can hang them up in your classroom, as is or in the hallway for kids to work on answering the different portions of each card. They can be printed multiple to a page, to be handed out as a warmup as well. There are two different sets of task cards one with a QR code, so that students can check their answers with their devices and one without QR codes, in that case youu can use the attached answer key. Each Task Card has a number on it that is associated with a box on the blank answer sheet.
There is a set with QR codes and a set without, a hardcopy of the answers is also included to help with grading.
A blank Answer Sheet is included so students can record their answers!
Previews are available so that you can see what the task cards looks like to make sure it is a product you would like to use and enjoy.
